What does the TYPO3 Maintenance Mode extension do?
It takes your website temporarily offline behind a Coming Soon or maintenance page. Typical uses are a site that is about to launch, maintenance work, or keeping the site offline while you upgrade it. The extension works plug and play and brings its own TYPO3 page and template, which you adjust from a settings panel.
Who can still see the website while maintenance mode is on?
You decide. You can add users and configure user roles who see the regular site instead of the under construction page. All other visitors see the Coming Soon or maintenance page you designed, with your logo, headline, description and background. This way selected people keep access to the website while the public sees the placeholder page.
What can I customise on the Coming Soon page?
The page lists these settings:
- Logo: upload a JPG or PNG and change its width and height
- Title and description, for example “launching soon” or “under construction”
- Background: a colour or a background image
- Social media icons and links for Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, GitHub, Instagram and YouTube
How many domains does a licence cover?
One licence covers one production domain, including its subdomains. Staging, development and local installs are free. For more sites, choose the licence for up to 3 or up to 10 domains. Details: Buying and Licences FAQ.
How do I install and update it?
Install it with Composer (the premium version comes from our private Composer server) and activate your licence key in System > T3Planet Shop. Updates arrive through Get Updates in the same module.
