How TYPO3 AI works
Here is how it fits together. Six AI extensions, or your own, run on one free base: AI Foundation. It connects to the AI model you choose. And through its MCP server, AI agents can work in TYPO3, too.
AI Foundation
AI Foundation is your control centre. The dashboard, your AI providers, the MCP server, permissions and logs: all in one place. It is free and open source, with no licence key and no registration.
For developers
For developers, it is a base to build on. Require it with Composer, run the extension setup, clear the cache, and clone our reference extension to start your own. Providers, prompts, permissions, costs and logs are already there.
By hand vs TYPO3 AI
What does that mean in practice? Take ten SEO titles and descriptions: about fifty minutes by hand. With TYPO3 AI, the drafts are ready to review in about a minute. The same goes for translations, alt text, and one change across a hundred records.
AI Agent
Ask the AI Agent, anywhere in the TYPO3 backend. It knows the module you are in, and works with the MCP tools. Here it adds a content element, finds images without alt text, and creates a redirect. It only does what your backend rights allow, and nothing is written until you apply it.
Chatbot and Search backend
AI Chatbot and AI Search share one backend. Add your data sources: TYPO3 pages, sitemaps, PDF documents, web pages, Q and A pairs, or text. Then follow the training in the Training Center. And AI Search adds answers on top of the search you already run, like Solr, ke_search or indexed_search.

AI Chatbot gets its own settings, with a live preview of the widget. On your website, it answers your visitors from your own content.

MCP server
Prefer your own AI assistant? Through the built-in MCP server, with more than a hundred tools, AI agents such as Claude can work directly in your TYPO3.
AI Accessibility
AI Accessibility gives you one dashboard for your site. The scanner checks your pages, and AI drafts alt text for you to approve. In the content tools, you add voiceovers and plain-language versions. And for your visitors, there is an accessibility widget.

This is Sovereign AI for TYPO3. Use your own key with the provider you already trust, run open models locally with Ollama, or choose optional AI Credits.
