What does the TYPO3 News Comment extension do?
It adds a comment section to your TYPO3 News pages and articles and gives you the tools to moderate it. Readers reply in threaded comments and can vote comments up or down. You get customizable comment forms and layouts, email notifications to the admin on new comments, and anti-spam features to keep your comment section clean.
How do I control who can comment and which comments go live?
Admins get a comment moderation feature and can approve comments directly from the email notification. You can enable or disable comments for frontend logged-in users, restrict or allow anonymous users, and add a “Terms” checkbox to the comment form. This lets you match commenting to your editorial process before anything appears below a news article.
Is anything needed before I enable the rich text editor for comments?
Yes. Before you enable the RTE option, add a TinyMCE key in your backend settings. The rich text editor then gives commenters advanced formatting tools. The extension is designed for TYPO3 News pages and articles, and comments are grouped by news article, so each post has its own dedicated set of comments.
How many domains does a licence cover?
One licence covers one production domain, including its subdomains. Staging, development and local installs are free. For more sites, choose the licence for up to 3 or up to 10 domains. Details: Buying and Licences FAQ.
How do I install and update it?
Install it with Composer (the premium version comes from our private Composer server) and activate your licence key in System > T3Planet Shop. Updates arrive through Get Updates in the same module.
