Which TYPO3 pages are missing a translation? A report in one question
Before a launch or an audit you need to know which pages have no German version, which German pages are still hidden and which miss part of their content. In the backend that means switching languages and comparing page by page. With TYPO3 MCP you ask your AI assistant one question and get the list.
The prompt
Which pages on our Mustermann Outdoor site have no German version yet, and which German pages are hidden or missing content?
Reads only; changes nothing
What does the assistant do?
- Ask once: name the site and the language you want to check.
- The assistant reads the page tree and every page with its language, so it finds the German language ID of this site on its own.
- It lists every page with no German version; on our demo that is seven live pages and one hidden page, among them Tents, Events and Careers.
- It names German pages that exist but stay hidden, like the draft of Manuals and downloads.
- It compares the content elements and finds the German TX-7 page without its Price and service element.
How do I check it and put it back?
A question changes nothing: the assistant only reads, so there is nothing to put back. To check the report, switch the page tree or the Layout module to German and open the pages it names.
What do I need?
AI Foundation with its MCP server switched on, and an MCP-capable assistant; AI Foundation is free.
What can the assistant not do for you?
- The report finds missing pages and elements, not outdated wording: a German page can exist and still name an old price. Ask for that comparison as its own job.
- News records and image alt text are kept apart from pages: ask for them in their own question.
- With several sites on one install, German can have a different language ID per site. Name the site in your question, or the assistant looks it up first.
- What your assistant reads through MCP goes to the vendor of that assistant, as with any chat.
Questions about this episode
What does this video show?
One question in Claude on our demo install: which Mustermann Outdoor pages have no German version, and which German pages are hidden or miss content. Then the Localization overview and the Layout module in the TYPO3 backend, and the TX-7 page on the website in English and German.
Does the report change anything on the site?
No. The assistant only reads pages and content elements. It offered to queue the missing pages for translation, but left that decision to you.
Why did it leave out some folders?
Storage folders such as the news storage hold records, not pages for visitors, so they need no German page. The assistant listed them separately and suggested leaving them out.
